Job summary

Hill’s Pet Nutrition – A Colgate‑Palmolive Company in New Zealand seeks a Customer Development Manager to lead independent pet specialty retailers, shelters, and emerging markets, driving growth and market access.

You will partner with field sales, develop annual plans, manage ROI analyses, forecast via ATLAS, and coordinate with Marketing, Finance, and Logistics to deliver strong results; travel 25% and a hybrid work model are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in FMCG, Pharma or Vet/Pet industries with a focus on Key Account Management.
• Strong ability to build engagement with community-based partners.
• Proven planning and prioritization for a diverse long-tail portfolio.
• Comfort with numbers and turning sales data into business insights.
• Ability to see the big picture while managing detailed promotional calendars.

Responsibilities

• Champion independent pet specialty retailers, shelters, and emerging segments; develop annual plans to hit sales and premium shelf goals; coordinate with field sales for execution of the 6Ps.
• Identify and develop partnerships in non-traditional, emerging networks to expand Hill’s footprint.
• Drive financial viability with commercial plans, ROI analyses and Atlas-based forecasting; allocate investments per brand strategy.
• Provide performance updates to Country Manager and support process improvements; manage claims and invoices.
