Millari NZ Limited is seeking a practical, organised People & Safety Coordinator to support HR, Health & Safety, ACC, injury management and return-to-work across our Gisborne sawmill. You will work with managers and employees to keep People & Safety processes accurate, compliant and moving.

We’re looking for a practical, organised and people-focused People & Safety Coordinator to join our sawmill team at Millari NZ Ltd.
This is a hands‑on role supporting our people and operations across HR, Health & Safety, ACC, injury management and return‑to‑work within our busy timber manufacturing environment.
Working closely with HR, managers, supervisors and employees across the mill, you’ll help ensure our People & Safety processes are organised, accurate and followed through.
We’re looking for someone who can take ownership, work independently, build strong relationships and get things done.
You’ll support and coordinate across:
This isn’t a desk‑only role. You’ll work both in the office and across our operation, building strong relationships with our people and supporting managers to keep things moving.
You’ll ideally bring 2–5 years’ relevant experience across HR, Health & Safety, ACC/rehabilitation, injury management or people administration.
We’re looking for someone who is:
Experience with ACC and return‑to‑work, H&S systems, HR/payroll systems, training coordination or workplace drug and alcohol testing would be highly regarded.
Experience or certification in administering workplace drug and alcohol testing would be an advantage.
Experience within manufacturing, forestry, engineering or another operational environment would also be beneficial.
A relevant HR, Health & Safety, rehabilitation or business qualification would be advantageous.
