DebtManagers is seeking an experienced P&C Business Partner to influence leaders across NZ and Australia. You will coach, challenge and enable teams to move from operators to strategic leaders, applying a practical, human-centric approach to performance and capability.
You’ll balance urgency with quality, navigate ambiguity and drive outcomes that matter. You’ll partner with senior leaders, manage performance and ER matters, and contribute to talent reviews and succession planning, ensuring the
This is probably unlike any People & Capability role you’ve had before.
That’s a big statement.
That starts with our customers.
Everyday we deal with people who are often dealing with financial stress, uncertainty or some of the toughest periods of their lives. We ask a lot of them, but we do it with humanity, respect and care.
That same philosophy extends to our people.
We believe that the best results come from understanding the human being in front of us, not just the situation they are in.
We’ve grown through collaboration, pragmatism and getting things done.
We're proud of the social impact we've had and we're only getting started.
We’re fair, fast and fearless.
This is a newly created Business Partner role reporting to our P&C Operations Lead, doing the following:
Partner with leaders across New Zealand and Australia to lift performance, build capability, solve problems and help teams succeed.
Coach leaders on performance, accountability and leadership effectiveness - and challenge them when it counts, helping them transition from operators to business leaders.
Support leaders to apply our Collections Model and drive quality performance conversations.
Manage performance, conduct and ER matters, and coach leaders through hard conversations.
Draft documentation and help resolve issues at pace.
Contribute to talent reviews, succession planning and closing capability gaps.
Success here isn’t measured by the number of initiatives you launch, policies you write or frameworks you introduce.
One of the hardest parts of this role is deciding where your time creates the most value.
Do you spend the morning building a new process? Or coaching a leader through a team challenge that’s affecting performance right now?
Do you solve the problem yourself? Or help someone else solve it?
The answer won’t always be obvious. That’s why judgement matters.
You’ll be trusted to make decisions, navigate ambiguity and focus on what will have the biggest impact on leaders, teams and business performance.
If you need everything clearly defined, this role probably won’t be for you.
If you enjoy working things out, making smart calls and building as you go, you’ll thrive here.
You’re an experienced P&C Business Partner who understands that relationships are the foundation of influence.
You are:
Most importantly, you know the difference between being busy and being valuable.
You don’t start with a policy.
You start with understanding the problem. Then you find the solution that will make the biggest difference.
Because you’ll get to build.
Because you’ll have influence.
Because you’ll work with leaders who genuinely care about their people, their customers and their results.
Because you’ll join a business growing rapidly across two countries.
And because you’ll be part of a team that values impact over bureaucracy and outcomes over process.
We don’t need another P&C person. We need a Business Partner.
