Job description

As a People Adviser, you will play a central role in creating a positive and consistent people experience across AIA. Acting as a trusted first point of contact for employees and leaders, you will provide practical guidance on people policies, processes and employment relations matters while helping ensure fair, compliant and values-led outcomes. Working within the People & Culture team, you will build strong relationships across the business, support leaders through complex people conversations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance employee experience, operational excellence and organisational effectiveness.

Your Impact

Provide trusted advice to employees and leaders, enabling confident and informed people decisions.

Lead employment relations matters across performance, conduct and attendance, delivering fair and compliant outcomes.

Manage Workday cases and transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring a seamless employee experience.

Coach leaders through sensitive conversations, building capability and confidence in managing people matters.

Identify risks, trends and improvement opportunities, escalating complex issues and strengthening people practices.

Maintain high-quality knowledge resources, reporting and process documentation that support operational excellence.

Your Capabilities

You have experience providing HR or people advisory support, including guidance on people policies, processes and employee lifecycle activities.

You bring practical knowledge of employment relations and New Zealand employment legislation, with the ability to apply sound judgement in sensitive situations.

You have strong relationship-building and communication skills that help you work effectively with employees, leaders and People & Culture colleagues.

You bring a proactive approach to problem solving, continuous improvement and delivering high-quality service outcomes.

You may also have experience using HR systems such as Workday and supporting data reporting, audits or people metrics.

It is great if you have a qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline and an interest in growing your employment relations expertise.
