Job summary

Methodist Mission Northern, The Lifewise Trust and Airedale Property Trust are seeking a Payroll Officer to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant payroll for three trusts from their Auckland office.

You will manage end-to-end payroll processing, maintain records, perform reconciliations, handle statutory deductions and leave entitlements, while upholding confidentiality and a high standard of service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years NZ payroll experience, end-to-end processing.
• Strong knowledge of NZ payroll legislation ( Holidays Act 2003, ERA 2000, KiwiSaver Act 2006).
• Experience with payroll/HRIS systems; PayGlobal preferred.
• Excellent reconciliation, reporting and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail, communication and organisational skills.
• Confidentiality and delivering accurate service.
• Experience with manual payroll calculations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate and timely fortnightly payroll across three trusts.
• Maintain employee payroll records for starters, changes and terminations.
• Complete payroll reconciliations, validation checks and payments.
• Manage statutory deductions and reporting (PAYE, KiwiSaver, IRD payday filing).
• Administer leave entitlements and holiday pay per Holidays Act 2003.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries.
• Maintain confidentiality and support payroll process improvements.
