Job summary

Westpac New Zealand is seeking an experienced Payments Governance professional in Auckland to support management of payment rails, standards and obligations across our operating framework. You will coordinate industry engagement, governance and reporting, representing the bank in industry forums and ensuring continuity across payment domains.

You will monitor regulatory changes, coordinate impact assessments and drive improvements in controls, resilience and performance across Payment Services,

Qualifications

• Experience in domestic payments or related financial services industry.
• Understanding of payment methods and settlement arrangements.
• Experience engaging with regulators and industry bodies.
• Strong analytical thinking and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support management of Westpac NZ's payment rails and operating frameworks.
• Coordinate industry engagement and governance across payment services.
• Maintain oversight of payment rules, standards and obligations.
• Coordinate participation in industry bodies and forums.
• Monitor changes in industry regulations and coordinate impact assessments.
• Manage governance, dashboards and reporting related to payments.
• Resolve payment-related operational issues with stakeholders.
• Support testing and readiness for industry changes.
• Identify process improvements for compliance and resilience.
• Provide cross-domain expertise across payment types.
