Job summary

Higgins in Christchurch is seeking an Operator to join the Paving Crew on a permanent, full-time basis. You will operate various plant and machinery to support asphalt paving projects and work outdoors to deliver quality outcomes.

The role requires a full Class 1 licence and experience with civil construction or paving environments. A safety-first mindset, physical fitness, and a positive, team-oriented attitude are essential for success in this outdoor role.

Qualifications

• Full Class 1 licence required; Class 2 and WTR advantageous.
• Experience operating plant and machinery in civil construction, roading, or asphalt paving.
• Experience with paving crews preferred.
• Safety-first attitude for yourself, teammates and the public.
• Physically fit for outdoor, fast-paced work.
• Team player with a can-do attitude.
• Flexible, reliable and committed to getting the job done.
• Willingness to learn in civil construction.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant and machinery used in paving.
• Support safe and efficient asphalt paving projects.
• Assist paving crew with tasks and housekeeping on site.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions with a focus on quality.
