Job summary

Intermountain Region ASCs is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support licensed nursing personnel in delivering high-quality patient care. The role includes routine patient assistance, vital signs, specimen collection, and adherence to safety and privacy policies.

The position emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care, teamwork with a multidisciplinary staff, and strict compliance with HIPAA and facility procedures. A CNA program graduate with Florida CNA and BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.
• Current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Accurately obtain and record vital signs and patient weights and report findings to the nurse.
• Administer simple treatments and/or tests according to policies and procedures.
• Provide post-procedure care to patients in a compassionate and efficient manner.
• Initiate patient care activities in line with the nursing plan of care.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation, hygiene.

JOB TITLE: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

General Summary of Duties

Under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs routine, non-professional patient care activities. Responsibilities include assisting patients with activities of daily living, obtaining and recording vital signs, collecting specimens, and providing support in delivering quality patient care in a safe and compassionate manner.

Essential Functions

Patient Care

• Accurately obtain and record vital signs and patient weights in a timely manner and report findings to the nurse.
• Administer simple treatments and/or tests according to established policies and procedures.
• Provide post-procedure care to patients in an efficient, compassionate, and empathetic manner.
• Initiate patient care activities consistent with the nursing plan of care.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including:
  • Bathing
  • Dressing
  • Feeding
  • Ambulation
  • Personal hygiene

Clinical Support

• Understand and consistently apply principles of aseptic technique when caring for patients.
• Observe patients and promptly notify the nurse of any changes in condition.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and comfortable patient environment.
• Collect specimens and assist with patient care procedures as directed.

Professionalism & Compliance

• Help maintain all clinical areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
• Protect patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.
• Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, safety standards, and infection control practices.

Education & Experience

Required

• Graduate of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.
• Current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred

• Minimum of six (6) months of experience assisting in the care of patients in a healthcare setting.

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, and assisting patients with mobility.
• Ability to safely lift, move, and transfer patients with appropriate assistance and equipment.
• Exposure to patient care environments and potential contact with communicable diseases.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
