Job summary

Blanket Bay Lodge is seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our team for the new season. The role requires 4+ years in a professional kitchen, strong organisational and leadership skills, and the ability to design menus with dietary and allergen considerations.

Shifts run from 7am to 3pm, five days a week with weekends off. A subsidised staff accommodation option is available in Glenorchy, and owning a vehicle is advantageous.

Blanket Bay Lodge are currently inviting expressions of interest for the following.

PASTRY CHEF

We are currently looking for an experienced pastry chef to join our team at the start of our new season.

Must have 4 years’ experience in a similar role in professional kitchen environment. We are seeking a candidate with sound organisational skills, kitchen management, creativity in menu design and show strong leadership traits. Must excel at adapting to dietary requests and have a good knowledge of allergens. They must be able to work independently and maintain a high standard.

We are looking for a long-term commitment for this role.

We offer a great work life balance with the role consisting of day shifts only starting at 7am until 3pm, 5 days a week. Monday to Friday, weekends off.

Wages start at 38 dollars an hour to 40 dollars an hour based on experience and commitment. This is a full time, permanent position with a minimum of thirty hours per week.

Candidates must be eligible to work in New Zealand and have a valid working visa without any restrictions.

All leave entitlements are as per New Zealand legislation.

We provide subsidised staff accommodation that is available in the small town of Glenorchy which is a 5-minute drive from the lodge.

Owning your own vehicle and being able to drive is strongly advised as the lodge is in a rural area.
