Job summary

Future Skills Academy in Albany, Auckland is seeking a Student Services Specialist – Pastoral Care to champion learner well‑being and success at our new Albany campus. You will be the trusted point of contact for learners and staff, coordinating confidential support and connecting learners to internal and external services to boost retention and employability.

This permanent full-time role requires a tertiary qualification in a related field, experience in learner support and event planning, and

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in education, counselling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
• Experience in learner support, pastoral care, or related services.
• Experience with diverse learner populations.
• Experience in event planning and learner engagement activities is desirable.
• Familiarity with NZQA's Code of Practice for Pastoral Care of Learners.

Responsibilities

• Champion learner well-being and success.
• Act as trusted point of contact for learners and staff.
• Refer learners to internal and external support services.
• Maintain confidential intervention records.
• Identify learners needing additional academic support.
• Coordinate learner engagement activities and workshops.
• Support orientation, graduation, and employability initiatives to improve retention.
