Job summary

The Redwood Club in Wellington seeks a Health Care Assistant / Caregiver or diversional therapist to support older adults in a daytime activity programme in Tawa, two days per week. You will assist with daily activities, prepare meals, and help run the programme in a caring, team-oriented environment.

Ideal candidates have aged care or disability sector experience, strong communication, and a patient, reliable approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care or disability sector.
• Willing to undertake additional training.
• Patient, caring and empathetic with older adults.
• Excellent communication and approachable manner.
• Punctual, reliable with strong work ethic.
• Enjoy teamwork and a supportive environment.
• Understand Health and Safety importance.
• Hold a full, current NZ driver's license and drive a passenger van.
• Able to prepare nutritious meals for a group.
• Knowledge of Te Reo Māori is an advantage.
• Legally entitled to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily activities for older adults.
