Job summary

The Redwood Club in Wellington is seeking a Health Care Assistant / Caregiver or diversional therapist to join our friendly team in Tawa, 2 days per week. You will support older people with daily activities, prepare meals, and help run the daytime programme. We welcome applicants with aged care or disability sector experience and/or qualifications.

You should be patient, reliable, and a good communicator who works well in a team. Te Reo Māori knowledge is an advantage.

Qualifications

• For this role, experience in aged care or disability support is preferred.
• Willingness to undertake additional training as needed.
• Must hold a full, current NZ driver’s license.
• Experience creating meaningful activities for older adults is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily activities for older people.
• Prepare nutritious meals for a group and maintain a safe environment.
• Help run the daytime activity programme and support engagement.
