Job summary

Repco in Nelson, New Zealand, is seeking a Retail Assistant to ensure every customer has a great in-store experience. You will guide product selection, provide genuine service, and help customers find what they need, including upselling where suitable.

The role requires a friendly, team-focused approach and the ability to work Saturdays and Sundays; lifting and physical tasks are part of the job. Training will be provided for product knowledge and sales processes.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused with strong service background.
• Retail and/or customer service experience preferred.
• Able to lift, bend and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in-store and guide product selection.
• Upsell where appropriate to boost sales.
• Process sales at the till accurately and efficiently.

About the role:

At Repco we want to ensure that each customer has a great experience in store and as a Retail Assistant your key focus is to ensure this - This starts from the moment the customer walks in the door, to providing guidance around our products and ensuring they find what they need, upselling where you can and processing the sale at the till.

Duties Include:

• Always have asafety focusto ensure your safety, and that of your teammates & customers
• Provide genuine service & create moments that matter with customers
• Use your strong customer service to contribute to positive sales performance
• Maintain exceptional showroom presentation & merchandising standards
• Process stock; receive, dispatch & store
• Be an enthusiastic, cooperative & collaborative Repco team member, and contribute to a positive team culture.

Note, this role will require lifting, bending & climbing.

Skills & experience:

This is a very customer focused position so you'll naturally be a people person and a passionate customer service expert, ideally with previous retail and/or customer service experience. Full training will be given on the products we sell, however an interest in automotive is a plus. But if customer service is your passion and where you thrive, we like that sound of that too! You must be confident working in a retail/sales environment and dealing with a variety of customers. Your strong communication skills and excellent phone manner will be complimented by your team-focused and 'can do' attitude.
