Job summary

Eastern Institute of Technology in Gisborne seeks a passionate Nursing Lecturer to join the School of Nursing on a 0.4 FTE, permanent basis commencing January 2027. The role delivers Bachelor of Nursing teaching and supports students across classroom, simulation, clinical and community learning environments.

You will develop teaching resources and participate in curriculum development while fostering strong partnerships with healthcare sector stakeholders to promote learner success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing required; postgraduate qualifications desirable.
• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with a NZ Nursing Council practising certificate.
• Recent nursing practice experience and understanding of contemporary nursing practice.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Commitment to culturally safe practice and Te Tiriti o Waitangi awareness.

Responsibilities

• Deliver teaching across the Bachelor of Nursing programme.
• Support students in classroom, simulation, clinical and community settings.
• Develop teaching resources, learning activities and assessment materials.
• Participate in curriculum review, programme development and moderation.
• Build relationships with students, colleagues and healthcare sector stakeholders.
