Job summary

The University of Auckland is seeking a motivated researcher to support postgraduate students within the Molecular Vision Research Cluster. The role focuses on animal handling, lens dissection, immunohistochemistry sample prep and Western blot analysis as part of a Marsden-funded project.

The successful candidate will work across a multidisciplinary team, maintain meticulous records and contribute to high standards of research practice while developing skills in vision-related biology.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification or relevant research experience preferred.
• Strong technical and communicational skills required.
• Ability to work meticulously and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, setup and delivery of experiments for Marsden-funded project.
• Support data collection and analysis activities.
• Assist with animal handling in accordance with approved protocols.
• Support and train postgraduate students in laboratory techniques.
• Undertake lens dissection, immunohistochemistry prep and Western blot analysis.
• Maintain detailed laboratory records and documentation.
• Collaborate with researchers across the Molecular Vision Research Cluster.
