Job summary

The University of Auckland is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated researcher to join the Molecular Vision Research Cluster in the Department of Physiology. The role involves supporting postgraduate students with animal handling and contributing to the delivery of a Marsden-funded project across a range of techniques including lens dissection, immunohistochemistry, and Western blot analysis.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification or relevant research experience; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience with animal handling.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, setup and delivery of experiments for a Marsden-funded project.
• Support data collection and analysis activities.
• Assist with animal handling in accordance with approved protocols.
• Support and train postgraduate students in laboratory techniques.
• Undertake lens dissection, immunohistochemistry sample preparation and Western blot analysis.
• Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records and research documentation.
• Collaborate with postgraduate students and researchers across the Molecular Vision Research Cluster.
