Job summary

Arvida Group in Hawke's Bay, Havelock North, is seeking a friendly Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team, delivering quality meals and supporting resident wellbeing. This permanent part-time role runs Monday and Tuesday 9:00am–3:00pm with potential for extra shifts; you’ll help with prep, cooking, and keeping the kitchen clean and safe.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen or similar environment.
• Highly motivated, proactive, and flexible.
• Strong hygiene and health & safety commitment.
• Able to work closely with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef with kitchen and meal preparation.
• Prepare ingredients, bake, cook, toast, and heat food items.
• Keep kitchen and scullery clean, tidy and safe.
