Job summary

Te Kura, New Zealand's leading distance education provider, is seeking a passionate Teacher Aide to support a student in home-based learning in Kohukohu, Northland. This part-time role is 13 hours per week, with a competitive hourly rate and opportunities for professional development.

You will work under a Kaiako to deliver adapted lessons, monitor progress, and maintain accurate records, while fostering an inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teacher Aide or similar role supporting ākonga with special educational needs.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, families and kaiako.
• Patience, flexibility and genuine passion for supporting students to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Support ākonga with learning per their IEP.
• Assist Kaiako in delivering lessons and adapt materials to needs.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to help ākonga achieve goals.
• Encourage engagement in online learning and use assistive tech as needed.
