Job summary

Swimgym is seeking a Development Swim Coach / Coaching Intern for HPK Swim Club in East Auckland. The role runs five evenings per week, approximately 5.45–8.00pm, with a mix of paid coaching work or university internship/placement.

You will coach developing competitive swimmers alongside HPK coaches, gaining hands-on experience on the pool deck. Ideal for someone with a swimming background who wants to grow coaching skills, or a student in sport-related studies seeking practical hours and

Qualifications

• Coaching swimming background
• Strong technical understanding of all four strokes
• Reliable and able to commit to Monday–Friday 5.45–8.00pm

Responsibilities

• Coaching HPK development swimmers across five evenings each week
• Preparing for sessions and helping with pool-deck setup
• Teaching and reinforcing technique across all four strokes
• Developing starts, turns, underwater skills and racing skills
• Identifying faults and guiding improvement
• Creating an enjoyable, positive training environment
• Learning from experienced HPK coaches and contributing to the programme
