Job summary

The Taupo Swimming Club INC, based at the A C Baths in Taupo, is seeking a motivated Head Coach to design, deliver and oversee training across squads. You will lead progression, provide constructive feedback, and coordinate communications with swimmers, parents and the club committee.

You will promote swimming in the community, recruit new members and manage meet calendars, with support for development and a clear pathway for program growth. A NZ work visa may be required.

Qualifications

• Passion and energy for swimming and coaching.
• Background in competitive swimming or formal coaching experience.
• Current Swimming New Zealand Membership and NZSCTA.
• Strong administrative and organisation skills, and the ability to set clear expectations.
• Build positive, encouraging relationships with athletes and their families.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver training sessions and competition plans for squads.
• Oversee athlete progression and goal-setting with engaging poolside coaching.
• Provide regular communications with swimmers, parents and the club committee and develop programmes to support goals.
• Promote the club and sport within the community and recruit new members.
• Manage swim meet calendars and provide meet-day support at local, regional and national events.
