Job summary

Lumino Palmerston North, part of Abano Healthcare Group, is seeking a friendly, reliable Dental Assistant / Receptionist to join our busy practice part-time on Mondays and Tuesdays from 8.30am to 5.30pm.

In this dual role, you will support both clinical and administrative functions, assisting clinicians during treatments, preparing rooms, and maintaining infection control to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Qualifications

• Previous Dental Assistant and/or Reception experience (preferred but not essential)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A warm, professional, and patient-focused approach
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Confidence using computer systems and learning new technology

Responsibilities

• Assist clinicians during a variety of dental treatments and procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for patient appointments
• Maintain high infection control and sterilisation standards
• Ensure clinical areas are clean, organised, and fully stocked
• Support the wider clinical team to ensure the smooth running of the practice
