Job summary

Lumino Palmerston North is seeking a friendly, reliable Dental Assistant / Receptionist to join our team part-time on Mondays and Tuesdays from 8.30am to 5.30pm, in a busy, patient-focused practice in Palmerston North.

In this dual role you will support clinical and administrative tasks, assist clinicians during treatments, prepare rooms, maintain infection control, and help keep the reception running smoothly, delivering exceptional care with a warm, professional approach.

Qualifications

• Previous Dental Assistant and/or Reception experience preferred but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Warm, professional, patient-focused approach.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a busy environment.
• Confident with computer systems and learning new technology.
• Legally allowed to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinicians during dental treatments and procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for patient appointments.
• Maintain infection control and sterilisation standards.
• Keep clinical areas clean, organised, and stocked.
• Support the wider clinical team for smooth running.
