Job summary

Spectrum Care is seeking a Community Support Worker for Central and West Auckland to provide 1:1 home and community support for children, young people, and adults with autism or intellectual disability. The role is largely part-time, with shifts after school and on weekends.

You will help with community access, independent living, and educational goals, while building strong, lasting relationships with families and using technology to stay connected with the team.

Qualifications

• Full Driver's Licence is required.
• Experience supporting people with disabilities.
• Strong communication and commitment to building long lasting relationships.
• Sufficient fitness for an active role that may involve sports and recreational activities.
• Ability to use technology to communicate with the team and connect to communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 home support and assist with community activities.
• Support independent living skills such as money handling and bus routines.
• Help with homework and assist to enroll and achieve at school.
• Build reliable, long-term relationships with the people supported and their families.
