Job summary

Wairakei Resort Taupō is seeking a hands-on Commis Chef to join our busy kitchen team on a part-time basis. You will support food preparation for our restaurants and events, help keep the kitchen clean, and follow our food safety procedures.

This role is ideal for someone developing their kitchen skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You'll work as part of a collaborative team to ensure quality service for guests and events, with staff meals provided on shift and access to Accor

Qualifications

• Some kitchen or food preparation experience preferred.
• Reliable, hardworking and willing to learn.
• Able to work well under pressure in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with food preparation/cooking for our restaurants, functions and hotel operations.
• Preparing ingredients and basic dishes to the required standard.
• Supporting the Chef team during busy service periods.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen.
• Following food safety and hygiene procedures.
• Assisting with stock preparation and kitchen organisation.
• Working as part of a team to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
