Job summary

JobSpace is seeking an AOD Clinician to join the Papakura-based team on a permanent, part-time basis (24 hours per week). The role supports adults 18+ in a community-based AOD service and works with Peer Support Specialists to deliver holistic, culturally responsive care across homes, parks and community settings.

You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide person-centred interventions while maintaining strong relationships with whānau and local services.

Qualifications

• DAPAANZ registration preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience in AOD/mental health settings.
• Knowledge of addiction, recovery and therapeutic frameworks.
• Experience completing clinical assessments, treatment planning and interventions.
• Experience supporting people with substance use challenges.
• Current First Aid certification including CPR, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive AOD assessments and develop recovery-focused treatment plans.
• Provide therapeutic interventions tailored to each person’s needs and goals.
• Collaborate with Peer Support Specialists to deliver person-centred care.
• Build relationships with whānau, community organisations and other support services.
• Assess and respond to risk, including safety and relapse-prevention planning.
• Maintain accurate clinical records.
• Facilitate or co-facilitate group education and recovery programmes.
• Contribute to a culturally responsive, trauma-informed service grounded in recovery principles.
