Job summary

Alpha Personnel Recruitment Ltd invites applications for an AOD Clinician based in Papakura. This permanent, part-time role is 24 hours per week, Monday to Friday, within a community-based AOD service for adults 18+. The service works flexibly in places where clients feel safe, including whānau homes and community spaces.

You will operate in a dual Peer Support and Clinician model, delivering holistic assessments, treatment and outreach in a culturally responsive, recovery‑oriented setting.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience in AOD and/or mental health settings.
  • Current First Aid certification including CPR.
  • Full, clean New Zealand driver licence.

Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive AOD assessments and develop individualised, recovery-focused treatment plans.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions tailored to each person’s needs, strengths and goals.
  • Work collaboratively with Peer Support Specialists to deliver person-centred care.
  • Build effective relationships with whānau, community organisations and other support services.
  • Assess and respond to risk, including developing safety and relapse-prevention plans.
  • Maintain clear, accurate and timely clinical records.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate group education and recovery programmes.
  • Contribute to a service that is culturally responsive, trauma-informed and grounded in recovery principles.
