Job summary

Presbyterian Support Central (PSC) is seeking Health Care Assistants for Kowhainui Home in Whanganui. Roles are part time and casual, with a shift roster to cover 24/7 care for Elders.

You’ll support residents daily, promote independence and work within an Enliven team focused on quality care and a positive living experience. Applicants should have 2 years’ HCA experience, a Health & Wellbeing Certificate Level 2 (or study underway), and strong communication, numeracy and computer skills to

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Health Care Assistant.
• Hold a Health & Wellbeing Certificate Level 2, or currently working towards it.
• Passionate about supporting the wellbeing of older people.
• Patient, organised, and a strong team player.
• Good verbal communication and documentation skills.
• Be comfortable using a computer and keeping digital records.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily living and care support to our Elders.
• Encourage independence and resident‑led decision making.
• Deliver high‑quality, individualised support.
• Follow and encourage all health and safety practices and procedures.
• Work under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse team.
• Ensure resident needs are met effectively and in a timely manner.
