New Plymouth Sunhaven Holdings Limited is seeking Health Care Assistants to join their team in a challenging environment, offering 30-40 hours per week. You will provide personal care, assist with mobility, monitor vital signs, and support nursing staff.

You should have at least 3 years' experience or NZQA level 4, be compassionate and a good communicator, and flexible to night/weekend shifts. Wages are hourly from $26.16 to $28.25.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience as a Health Care Assistant or in a similar role.
• Compassionate, patient, and understanding nature.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• First Aid and CPR certification is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding patients.
• Assist patients with mobility and daily living activities.
• Monitor and record patients’ vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate.
• Support the nursing and medical staff by carrying out instructions and maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients.
• Help with the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring dietary needs are met.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
• Assist in moving and transferring patients using proper lifting techniques.
• Report any changes in patients’ conditions or needs to the nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities.
