Job summary

Babcock Australasia in Auckland is offering a Marine and Industrial Painting Apprenticeship. You'll work with experienced tradespeople learning surface preparation, protective coatings and industrial painting while completing a nationally recognised qualification.

This earn-while-you-learn program provides mentoring, structured training and clear career progression on defence and commercial maintenance projects at Devonport Naval Base.

Qualifications

• Full Class 1 New Zealand Driver Licence (or working towards).
• NCEA Level 2 or equivalent secondary education.
• Pre-Trade qualification in Construction, Engineering, Painting & Decorating, Automotive Refinishing or related field (advantageous but not essential).
• Previous practical experience through labouring, warehousing, construction, landscaping, manufacturing, maintenance, volunteer projects or personal hands-on projects.

Responsibilities

• Learn surface preparation, protective coatings and industrial painting with experienced tradespeople.
• Assist with finishing, quality checks and clean-up on site.
• Contribute to safe working practices and teamwork on projects.

Babcock is looking for an Apprentice Painter/Industrial Coatings to join the Coatings team based in Devonport, Auckland.

Whether you've completed a pre-trade course, gained labouring experience or simply enjoy working with tools, you're ready to develop your skills, embrace challenges and commit to becoming a qualified Marine and Industrial Painter.
