Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven experience in painting, decorating, or a related trade.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow specifications and instructions.
• Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
• Valid New Zealand driver's licence.
• Knowledge of painting techniques and surface preparation methods (preferred).
• Experience with different painting equipment and materials (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Preparing surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, filling, and priming
• Applying paint, stains, and varnishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
• Hanging and removing wallpaper and other decorative finishes
• Setting up and maintaining work areas, scaffolding, and safety equipment
• Mixing paint and other materials to achieve the correct colour and consistency
• Assisting with site preparation and general labouring duties
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations on all job sites
• Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order
• Communicating effectively with team members and clients to ensure project requirements are met
