Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) in Hamilton. You will care for patients recovering from anaesthesia across diverse specialties, with autonomy within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

The role offers orientation to PACU, ongoing professional development, and a roster that includes weekends and on-call, with salary aligned to NZNO MECA and benefits such as KiwiSaver and wellness support.

Qualifications

• Prior PACU nursing experience essential.
• Two years post-registration experience in an acute care setting in a NZ tertiary hospital.
• Be flexible with 24-hour service including on-call roster.
• Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients recovering from anaesthesia across multiple specialties.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining autonomy in PACU.
• Participate in a rotating roster including weekends and on-call shifts.
• Engage in orientation, professional development and wellness supports.
• Contribute to delivering high-quality, safe patient care.
