Job summary

DB Breweries in Timaru is seeking a detail‑oriented Packaging Technician to join the team. You will help ensure beer, cider, and RTDs leave the line at the right quality, safely and efficiently, in a fast-paced packaging environment.

The role focuses on operating and maintaining packaging machinery, contributing to continuous improvement, and collaborating with planning and maintenance teams. A 3–5 year background in related industries is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in packaging or maintenance in brewing, FMCG, or food and beverage environments.
• Experience using maintenance systems and continuous improvement practices.
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills.
• A positive, team-focused approach and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and improve packaging machinery to meet production targets.
• Ensure products meet quality and safety standards.
• Participate in TPM Continuous Improvement programs (5S, Kaizen).
• Perform reactive and preventive maintenance tasks on time.
• Collaborate with planning, maintenance, and logistics teams to keep operations running smoothly.
• Follow and update Standard Operating Procedures and support team training.
• Be flexible and move across different areas as needed.
