Job summary

Northpower is seeking an experienced Line Mechanic for our Construction and Maintenance team in Palmerston North. You will construct and maintain overhead lines and operate equipment up to 33kV, contributing to a safe, reliable electricity network.

We value practical, hands-on work, a strong safety record, and the ability to work collaboratively with customers and colleagues to meet project requirements. This on-site role emphasizes safety and quality in a dynamic utility environment.

Qualifications

• EWRB Registration Line Mechanic (required)
• NZ Driver Licence (required)
• HT Licence (highly desirable)
• Additional competencies relevant to the network or customer (advantageous)

Responsibilities

• Construct and maintain overhead electrical lines up to 110kV.
• Install and replace overhead conductors and pole structures as needed.
• Operate ground-mounted and structure-mounted electrical equipment for lines up to 33kV.
• Work safely and maintain a high professional standard across tasks.
