Job summary

Northpower is seeking an experienced Line Mechanic to join our Construction and Maintenance team in Palmerston North. You will construct and maintain overhead lines up to 33kV and operate related equipment, ensuring safety and reliability across the network.

You will contribute to work-plan development, install pole structures, and uphold high safety standards while partnering with colleagues and customers in a dynamic utility environment.

Qualifications

• EWRB Line Mechanic registration is required.
• NZ Driver Licence is required.
• HT Licence is highly desirable.
• Additional competencies relevant to the network or customer are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Construct and maintain overhead electrical lines per requirements.
• Develop work plans for construction, servicing and upgrading lines.
• Install and replace overhead conductors and pole structures.
• Overhaul non-load-bearing pole hardware up to 110kV.
• Operate ground-mounted and structure-mounted equipment for lines up to 33kV.
• Work safely and maintain high professional standards.
