Job summary

Northpower in Hamilton is seeking an experienced Line Mechanic to join our Construction and Maintenance team. You’ll work on overhead lines, build and service networks, and operate equipment up to 33kV with safety at the forefront.

You'll contribute to planning work, install conductors and pole structures, and uphold high safety standards while delivering reliable electrical infrastructure for customers across the Waikato region.

Qualifications

• NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply (Line Mechanic Distribution) Level 4 is required.
• NZ Driver Licence is required.
• HT Licence is highly desirable.
• Additional competencies relevant to the network or customer are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Construction and maintenance of overhead electrical lines.
• develop work plans for construction, servicing, and upgrading of electricity lines and associated equipment.
• Install and replace overhead conductors and pole structures as needed.
• Overhaul non-load-bearing pole hardware in electrical networks up to 66kV and operate equipment for lines up to 33kV.
• Demonstrate safety-focused, efficient and high professional standards in all tasks.
