Job summary

Northpower is seeking an experienced Line Mechanic to join our Construction and Maintenance team in New Zealand. You’ll help deliver reliable electricity across our network, from constructing and maintaining overhead lines to operating equipment up to 33kV.

The role requires NZ qualifications, a valid NZ driver license, and a strong safety focus. You will work on high-risk environments with a disciplined approach to safety and quality in maintenance and construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Construction and maintenance of overhead electrical lines.
• Develop work plans for construction, servicing, and upgrading of electricity lines and equipment.
• Install and replace overhead conductors and pole structures as needed.
• Overhaul non-load-bearing pole hardware up to 66kV.
• Operate ground-mounted and structure-mounted equipment for lines up to 33kV.
• Work safely, efficiently, and to a high professional standard.
