Job summary

Canterbury District Health Board in Christchurch seeks an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon to join the Orthopaedic Service at Christchurch Hospital. The role offers permanent, fixed-term or flexible arrangements, welcoming both full-time and part-time options to fit service needs.

You will contribute to high-quality, evidence-based orthopaedic care within a multidisciplinary team, with potential involvement in leadership, teaching and service development across the Canterbury region.

Qualifications

• Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in Orthopaedic Surgery, or be eligible for registration.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Orthopaedic Surgery, or an equivalent recognised specialist qualification.
• Relevantspecialist experience and clinical expertise in orthopaedic practice.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient-centred care and continuous quality improvement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across a multidisciplinary team.
• Interest in supporting the development of colleagues, trainees and the wider clinical service.

About the Team/Service/Location

The Orthopaedic Service at Christchurch Hospital providesspecialist orthopaedic care to patients across Canterbury and the wider SouthIsland.

As a major tertiary referral centre, Christchurch Hospitalmanages a broad range of complex orthopaedic presentations and works closelywith regional hospitals and other healthcare providers to support patientsthroughout their care journey.

You will join a dedicated team of specialist clinicians,registrars, nursing and allied health professionals who are committed todelivering excellent patient outcomes and improving the health and wellbeing ofour communities.

About You

As an Orthopaedic Surgeon, you will bring specialistclinical expertise, a commitment to high-quality patient care and the abilityto work effectively within a collaborative clinical environment.

You will have:
