Job summary

WM New Zealand is seeking a hands-on operator to ensure the safe and tidy operation of our transfer station and recycling area in Queenstown. You will assist the public with enquiries and deliver high-quality customer service while maintaining a professional company image.

Key duties include controlling waste placements, operating onsite equipment, guiding traffic, and keeping facilities clean. The role suits someone with on-site machinery experience, good fitness, and the ability to work well

Qualifications

• Previous operator experience would be an advantage
• Forklift (OSH) licence is desirable
• Endorsements for operating on site machinery are preferred however training will be provided to obtain the required licences for the right candidate
• Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
• A good level of fitness is required to carry out the duties of the role
• Some experience with computers and systems would be advantageous

• Maintain all buildings, grounds, roadways, and landscaping in a clean and tidy condition
• Undertake general labouring duties as required
• Assist with general administration, completing all records and paperwork as directed
• Meet targets for recycling and diversion of waste from landfill

Job description

In this role, you will have the responsibility for the safe and tidy operation of the transfer station and recycling area and assisting the public with general enquiries, while maintaining a professional image of the company and delivering high-quality customer service.

To be successful in this role

In return

• $31.00 per hour
• Work with a positive small team.
• 40 hours per week
• Monday - Saturday between 7:30am - 5:00pm
• Permanent full time work
• Based in Queenstown
