Job summary

WM New Zealand is seeking a dependable General Labourer to ensure the safe, tidy operation of our transfer station and recycling area in Queenstown. You'll assist the public with enquiries while maintaining a professional company image and delivering high-quality customer service.

Key duties include sorting waste, operating onsite plant and equipment, directing traffic, maintaining facilities, and performing light administration.

Qualifications

• Previous operator experience is advantageous.
• Forklift (OSH) licence is desirable.
• Endorsements for operating on site machinery are preferred, training provided.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Good level of fitness is required to perform duties.
• Some computer experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Control the placement of waste and recyclables deposited by customers.
• Operate onsite plant and equipment, such as loaders and similar heavy equipment.
• Direct traffic and provide general information to customers.
• Maintain buildings, grounds, roadways, and landscaping in a clean and tidy condition.
• Undertake general labouring duties as required.
• Assist with general administration, completing all records and paperwork as directed.
• Meet targets for recycling and diversion of waste from landfill.
