Job summary

WM New Zealand in East Tamaki is seeking a permanent, rostered Operator to join our onsite team at the transfer station. You will be the face of the operation, manage site safety, and operate key machinery as required.

Qualifications

• Clean NZ Full Class 1 driver's licence is a must.
• Wheels (W) and Tracks (T) endorsements are a nice to have.
• Strong focus on safety awareness.
• The ability to work autonomously when needed, but with a team-first mentality.
• Experience in the waste industry or production line work is a plus, but not essential if you have the right attitude!

Responsibilities

• Site Management: Ensuring the site, buildings, and roadways are safe, neat, and professional.
• Customer & Traffic Control: Directing vehicles, assisting customers with their drop-offs, and ensuring everyone understands the correct sorting process.
• Operations & Labouring: Operating onsite plant and equipment (if qualified/required) and being ready to pitch in with general labouring tasks.
• Environmental Champion: Playing a key role in sorting, collecting, and disposing of waste and recyclables efficiently and responsibly.
