Job summary

Waste Management in Auckland is seeking a hands-on Operator at East Tamaki Transfer Station to join a permanent, rostered onsite team. You’ll be the face of our operation, support site safety, and operate key machinery while delivering great customer service.

No two days are the same; you’ll manage site safety, direct vehicles, assist customers with drop-offs, and contribute to sustainable waste practices as part of our essential services team.

Qualifications

• Clean NZ Full Class 1 driver's licence is a must.
• Wheels (W) and Tracks (T) endorsements are a nice to have.
• Strong focus on safety awareness for yourself, your team and the public.
• Ability to work autonomously with a team-first mentality.

Responsibilities

• Site Management: Ensuring the site, buildings, and roadways are safe, neat, and professional.
• Customer & Traffic Control: Directing vehicles, assisting customers with their drop-offs, and ensuring everyone understands the correct sorting process.
• Operations & Labouring: Operating onsite plant and equipment (if qualified/required) and contributing to general labouring tasks.
• Environmental Champion: Sorting, collecting, and disposing of waste and recyclables efficiently and responsibly.

About the Role

• Operations & Labouring: Operating onsite plant and equipment (if qualified/required) and being ready to pitch in with general labouring tasks, we all contribute!
• Environmental Champion: Playing a key role in sorting, collecting, and disposing of waste and recyclables efficiently and responsibly.

Qualifications
