Job summary

PlaceMakers Alexandra is seeking a dedicated Customer Service Assistant to join our team. You will work across the Alexandra branch, serving customers at the trade counter and in the yard and drive-thru area, with a 27.5-hour week, Monday to Friday 9am–3pm and rostered Saturdays.

You’ll be organised, reliable and comfortable assisting across departments. A NZ Driver's Licence is essential; forklift licence is an advantage. Heavy lifting and health & safety values are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience in a retail or warehouse environment.
• Physical fitness for manual handling and light to moderate lifting.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and work under pressure.
• NZ full drivers licence required; forklift licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide cheerful, exceptional service across the trade counter and yard/drive-thru area.
• Support Inwards goods by accurately checking and receipting products into systems.
• Conduct cycle counts, stock and rotate products on shelves.
• Load and unload vehicles as required.

Description

This is varied role working across the Alexandra branch that will see you involved in serving customers on the trade counter and in the yard & Drive Thru area.

• Ensure that our customers, who are made up of trades, businesses and homeowners, are greeted with a cheerful smile and exceptional service
• Supporting Inwards goods by accurately checking and receipting product into our systems
• Cycle counting, stocking and Rotating products on shelves
• Loading / Unloading vehicles

This is a permanent part -time role, Offering 27.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9am-3pm, with rostered Saturdays.

About You

To shine in this role, you’ll need to be an organised and reliable team player who enjoys working in a close-knit team. Have a customer-focused and outgoing attitude and good work ethic. The ideal candidate will need to be flexible as this role will see you working across a few departments in one day.

• Proven experience in a customer service in a retail sales environment or warehouse experience
• There will be manual handling, and some heavy lifting required so you’ll need to be physically fit and have solid health and safety values
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport to support our valued customers
• A motivated, self-driven worker, with the skill to work proactively, independently and under pressure
• Be confident with computers and learning new systems
• A Full New Zealand drivers’ licence is essential, and a forklift licence an advantage
