Job description

Holiday Parks New Zealand – Upper Hutt, North Island

Join our team as our Operations & Membership Coordinator!

Are you a tech-savvy superstar with a passion for customer service? Do you love finding efficiencies and using technology to amplify impact? If so, we have the perfect role for you!

This position is based in the Hutt Valley – Wellington, working from an office with flexibility to also work from home. Some national travel will be required, particularly for event delivery.

Holiday Parks New Zealand is on the lookout for an enthusiastic Operations & Membership Coordinator to join our team. This permanent full-time role (40 hours per week) is all about ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, managing member data and communications, and supporting the delivery of our events and publications. We’re a small team with big opportunities, and we need someone with a passion for process and systems improvement, ideally with experience in CRM management.

This role touches everything we do – our members, our systems, and how efficiently we run day to day. We’re after someone who notices what’s missing, comes up with a fix, and is willing to figure out how to make it happen.

It’ll suit someone who’s energised by shaping a role, rather than stepping into one that’s already fully mapped out. If that sounds like you, read on.

You’ll work closely alongside our Chief Executive, right across the detail, and be trusted to turn good ideas into ways of working we can rely on as we grow.

About Us

Established in 1955, Holiday Parks New Zealand (HPNZ) is a not-for-profit, member-based organisation supporting a vibrant community of around 230 holiday parks and 90 trade members across Aotearoa New Zealand. Our sector contributes 25% of New Zealand’s commercial guest nights.

Our role is to improve the operating environment for our members, enabling them to add value to their businesses and communities. We provide a wealth of resources and support to help holiday park businesses thrive, including marketing and promotional opportunities, industry insights, networking events, and advocacy for the holiday park sector. We’re on a mission, working with our sector to enhance and promote the holiday park experience. Our values of kaitiakitanga, manaakitanga, and whanaungatanga guide everything we do.

What You’ll Do
  • Coordinate our membership process end-to-end, ensuring data quality, security, and privacy.
  • Support membership development and growth, and deliver outstanding customer service to our members and community.
  • Support the coordination of our publications and products, as well as distribution and stocktake.
  • Assist with the organisation of our annual Conference & Expo, Awards programme including an industry scholarship, and regional events.
  • Be the go-to person for our board of directors, handling meeting schedules, and AGM logistics.
  • Coordinate, produce and schedule our newsletters, and support with social media and website updates.
  • Keep our manuals and resource materials up to date and manage general admin duties, including data management and our email inbox.
About You
  • You’ve got solid experience working in a fast-paced environment, and can juggle competing priorities without breaking a sweat.
  • You’re genuinely at ease with systems and technology – CRMs, Xero, AI tools, project management platforms – and enjoy putting them to work for the team.
  • You communicate well, build relationships easily, and don’t let the details slip.
  • You’re detail-oriented and results-focused, always looking for a better way to do things.
  • You bring good energy to the team and genuinely care about the people you work alongside.
  • You enjoy learning new things, adapting as you go, and aren’t afraid to suggest a better way.
  • You’re happy to flex your hours around our busier event periods.
Why Join Us?
  • Hybrid work with an office base and some flexibility to also work from home.
  • Be part of a small, supportive and fun team that values your contribution.
  • Make a real impact on the holiday park sector in New Zealand.
  • Competitive salary ($60,000 – $70,000) and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Access to discounted product rates – from travel and tourism to home improvement and technology.
