Job summary

Partners Life is embarking on growth and transformation, seeking an experienced Operational & Process Business Analyst to join our new Service Enablement team in Operations in Auckland.

You will collaborate across frontline teams, subject matter experts, project teams and technology stakeholders to translate challenges into practical, scalable requirements, document processes, and support design, testing and adoption.

Qualifications

• Experience in business analysis, process optimisation, operational transformation, or service environments.
• Strong requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation skills.
• Experience developing process maps, user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability documentation.
• Proven workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement capability.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to influence and build credibility across a range of stakeholders without direct authority.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence working across business and technology teams to support effective implementation.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document business, operational, customer, and solution requirements.
• Map current and future‑state processes to support sustainable business practices.
• Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability artefacts for testing and implementation.
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to build alignment and decision making.
• Support solution design, impact assessments, testing, UAT, implementation and adoption activities.
• Identify risks, control impacts, and customer considerations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Partner with operational, project, technology, risk and change teams to support effective implementation.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, collaboration and operational excellence.

About The Opportunity

We are on a journey of growth and transformation, and in this context we are looking for an experienced Operational & Process Business Analyst to join our newly established Service Enablement team within Operations.

This is a highly collaborative role where you will work with frontline teams, subject matter experts, project teams, and technology stakeholders to understand business challenges, define requirements, refine processes, and support practical solutions. You will be responsible for translating ambiguity into clarity, ensuring business needs are understood and solutions are practical, scalable, and focused on creating value for our customers and people.

You will play an important role in helping the business evolve the way it works by analysing current practices, designing future‑state processes, facilitating discussions, and supporting solutions through design, testing, implementation, and adoption.

As our Operational & Process Business Analyst, you will:

• Gather, analyse and document business, operational, customer, and solution requirements
• Map current and future‑state processes to support sustainable business practices
• Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability artefacts that support testing and solution implementation

You are equally comfortable engaging with frontline teams and senior stakeholders, and can translate business needs into clear, structured requirements. You understand process optimisation and enjoy identifying opportunities to strengthen efficiency, effectiveness, and customer experience.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
