Job summary

Westpac New Zealand is seeking a senior leader to spearhead Open Finance, oversee industry participation and ecosystem engagement, and ensure our frameworks stay compliant and future-ready. You will steer our strategic stance on data sharing, standards and regulatory obligations, while collaborating with regulators, industry bodies, fintechs and internal teams.

You will shape Westpac's position on industry change, lead governance and risk activities, and drive end-to-end outcomes across Product,

Qualifications

• Experience in Open Finance, payments, banking, or financial services.
• Strong understanding of Open Finance frameworks, API ecosystems, and regulated obligations.
• Experience engaging with regulators, industry bodies, and external stakeholders.
• Experience shaping organisational positions on industry change and regulatory reform.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive papers and briefing materials.

Responsibilities

• Lead Open Finance domain, industry participation and ecosystem engagement.
• Own strategic position, standards, obligations and operating frameworks for Open Finance.
• Represent Westpac in industry and regulatory forums and with regulators and fintechs.
• Act as business owner for Open Finance rails, standards and ecosystem frameworks.
• Coordinate responses to regulatory consultations and policy proposals.
• Lead governance, risk and oversight for Open Finance delivers.
