Job summary

Aotearoa Infinite Academy is New Zealand’s first tuition-free online high school, delivering Pre-IGCSE, IGCSE and NCEA Levels 2-3 from anywhere in New Zealand. You’ll teach Mathematics and statistics to Years 9–12 in live virtual classrooms, while building a connected learning community and supporting student wellbeing.

We seek a qualified Mathematics teacher with NZ registration, strong NCEA knowledge, and experience with online or blended learning.

Qualifications

• NZ Teaching Registration is required.
• Mathematics teaching qualification and subject expertise.
• Strong knowledge of the NCEA curriculum is expected.

Responsibilities

• Design personalised learning experiences.
• Build trust-based relationships with students in a virtual environment.

Aotearoa Infinite Academy is New Zealand's first tuition-free online high school, pioneering accessible, world‑class education for students in Years 9‑13 across all of Aotearoa. We combine international (Pearson Edexcel pre‑IGCSE and IGCSE) and national (NCEA Levels 2 and 3) curricula with a flexible, virtual learning model that prioritises wellbeing, belonging, and personalised support.

The opportunity

Teach engaging mathematics through live virtual classrooms to Years 9-12 students, delivering Pre‑IGCSE, IGCSE and NCEA Levels 2-3 curriculum.

Work fully remotely from anywhere in New Zealand while building a supportive, connected learning community.

You'll:

• Design personalised learning experiences
• Build trust‑based relationships with students in a virtual environment
• Collaborate with a high‑calibre team of innovative educators
• Support student progress through differentiated instruction
• Provide meaningful formative assessment, with quality feedback, feed‑forward, and summative assessment, aligned to curriculum goals
• Contribute positively to the functioning and growth of the curriculum team
• Develop genuine partnerships with, and report to parents and caregivers to support learning

What we’re looking for

• NZ Teaching Registration
• Mathematics teaching qualification and subject expertise
• Strong knowledge of NCEA curriculum (Levels 2-3)
• Excellent communication skills and comfort with digital technology
• IGCSE teaching experience
• Online or blended learning experience
• Familiarity with educational technology and AI platforms
