Job summary

OneStopDeckShop, part of Buildpro Limited, is expanding its Christchurch showroom. The role combines sales, customer service, administration, purchasing and operational support to DIY customers, builders and tradespeople, helping customers choose right products, prepare quotes, order stock and support delivery teams.

You’ll be dealing with a varied mix of customers and tasks, with opportunities to learn across timber, decking and outdoor products and to contribute to a growing New Zealand

Responsibilities

• Retail sales in showroom and over the phone
• Help customers select decking and outdoor products for their project
• Provide product advice and technical support to DIY and trade customers
• Prepare quotes and support the Free Deck Quote service
• Order and replenish showroom stock
• Assist with purchasing and supplier communication
• Provide trade and customer support
• Process orders and ensure accurate information for customers
• Liaise with yard and delivery teams
• Follow up enquiries and help turn opportunities into sales

OneStopDeckShop is a growing New Zealand business specialising in decking, outdoor timber, composite decking and outdoor solutions. We have an important position becoming available in our Christchurch showroom, combining sales, customer service, product knowledge, administration, purchasing and operational support. This is a varied role where you'll be dealing with DIY customers, builders and tradespeople, helping customers choose the right products, preparing quotes, ordering stock, supporting our delivery and yard teams, and helping keep our showroom and systems running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Retail sales in our showroom and over the phone
• Help customers select the right decking and outdoor products for their project
• Provide product advice and technical support to DIY customers and trade customers
• Prepare quotes and support our Free Deck Quote service
• Order and replenish showroom stock
• Assist with purchasing and supplier communication

About you

• Customer focused – you genuinely enjoy helping people and can build rapport with everyone from a first-time DIY customer to an experienced builder
• Commercially minded – you understand that great customer service and strong sales go hand in hand
• Organised – you can manage multiple customers, quotes, orders and tasks without losing track of the details
• A problem solver – when something doesn't work, you are solution focused
• A quick learner – you'll need to become highly knowledgeable across timber, composite decking, fixings, coatings and outdoor products
• Confident with technology – you should be comfortable learning new systems and using technology to work smarter
• Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous: retail or trade sales, building products or timber, customer service, purchasing or stock management, trade counter/showroom environments, quoting, sales administration, construction or building industry, CRM or business management systems, AI and automation tools
