Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Waikato in Hamilton is seeking an Onboarding Advisor to support employees, managers and new starters across HR services in a busy fixed-term role.

You will respond to HR queries, prepare employment documentation, coordinate pre-employment checks and maintain accurate records while collaborating with AskHR, Recruitment, Payroll and the broader People & Culture team.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR administration, onboarding, recruitment support, payroll administration, or similar customer-focused administrative role.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accurate records and data.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and other business systems.
• Qualification in HR, business, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• HR queries: Provide first-line support and resolve enquiries or handover as needed.
• HR requests: Receive, check, track and process requests per policies and timeframes.
• Recruitment support and onboarding: Prepare documentation and coordinate pre-employment activities including vetting and eligibility checks.
• Data integrity: Maintain accurate information across HR systems and employee records.
• Service and relationships: Build relationships across People & Culture and improve processes.
