APM in Palmerston North is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our vibrant team. You will deliver client-centered rehabilitation for pain management and concussion, in homes, workplaces and communities.

Reporting to your Team Leader, you’ll work with an interdisciplinary team and GPs to support people across diverse settings using biopsychosocial approaches. We expect at least 2 years’ experience in pain and concussion services and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in pain and concussion services.
• Experience delivering community-based rehabilitation.
• Clear written and verbal communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and adapt to diverse client needs.

About the role

Reporting to your Team Leader, you’ll be part of a vibrant team culture that supports and empowers each other every day.

Pain Management Service (PMS)

• Experience working in inter-disciplinary teams to support people living with persistent pain
• Skilled in behaviour change, pacing strategies, and education in self-management
• Understanding of biopsychosocial approaches

Concussion Service

• Skilled in assessing and treating concussion and mild to moderate traumatic brain injury
• Experience in assessing and treating cervical spine, vestibular, oculomotor systems
• Collaborative approach with GPs, specialists and the wider multi-disciplinary team
