Job summary

OneStaff is seeking experienced Construction Workers to support residential, commercial, and civil projects across New Zealand. You will work with qualified tradespeople and site teams on a range of duties, from general building to site preparation and material handling.

The ideal candidate has 12 months+ hands-on construction experience, can operate tools, and is committed to safety and teamwork. Travel across NZ may be required; a valid Class 1 licence is preferred and basic hand tools are

Qualifications

• 12 months+ hands-on experience in construction.
• Experience across multiple environments: building/carpentry, residential, commercial, civil, finishing trades, general site operations.
• Good physical fitness for hands-on construction work.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Commitment to health and safety on-site.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced tradespeople.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Full Class 1 Driver Licence is preferred.
• Own basic hand tools suitable for construction work (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist with general building and construction work.
• Support builders, carpenters, and site teams.
• Contribute to diverse construction activities across residential, commercial, and civil projects.
• Assist with site preparation, clean-up, and material handling.
• Operate hand and power tools as required.
• Load and unload construction materials.
• Follow site plans and supervisor instructions.
• Help maintain a safe and tidy work environment.
• Support groundwork, formwork preparation, and general site tasks.
• Assist construction teams with tasks as directed by supervisors.
